The Tohoku-Hokkaido Line derailed between Fukushima Station and Shiroishizao Station due to the earthquake that observed a maximum seismic intensity of 6 upper off the coast of Fukushima Prefecture on the 16th of last month. Damage such as high bridges has been confirmed in a wide range, and restoration work has been carried out.

Initially, the section that was closed between Tochigi and Iwate prefectures was gradually shortened, and work proceeded smoothly between the remaining Sendai station and Fukushima station, so it was almost a week earlier than planned14 On the day, we will resume operation on all lines.

However, for the time being,

the number of Shinkansen trains will be reduced from 80% to 90%,

and the speed will be reduced between Koriyama Station in Fukushima Prefecture and Ichinoseki Station in Iwate Prefecture.

Therefore, it takes about 30 minutes longer than usual between Tokyo Station and Sendai Station, and about 1 hour longer than usual between Tokyo Station and Morioka Station.

According to JR East, returning to the regular timetable is expected to be after the Golden Week holidays.
