JR East started operating a temporary rapid train from the morning of the 19th in the section from Tochigi prefecture to Iwate prefecture where the Tohoku Shinkansen is closed.

The temporary rapid train service began on the up and down lines between Nasushiobara Station in Tochigi Prefecture and Morioka Station in Iwate Prefecture, where the Tohoku Shinkansen is closed.

Of these, between Sendai Station and Nasushiobara Station, two extra trains run each day on the upper and lower lines, which takes about three hours.

At Sendai Station, people with suitcases lined up in a line before the departure at 6:57 am.

A man in his 50s, who is working alone in Sendai, said, "I have a plan with my family at my home in Saitama, so I'm grateful for the extra train. I'm looking forward to seeing my family."

A woman in her 50s in Tokyo said, "I came to help with the move of a graduating college student. I am very grateful that my moving luggage will arrive at my parents' house in Tokyo and I wanted to go home anyway." I did.

On the other hand, between Sendai Station and Morioka Station, a temporary rapid train runs once a day on each of the upper and lower lines, and the up train departing from Morioka Station is significantly delayed due to heavy snow.

JR East plans to operate a special train from the 19th to the 21st, and the operation after the 22nd will be announced on the homepage as soon as the plan is decided.
