After the earthquake that observed shaking with a seismic intensity of 6 or higher in Miyagi and Fukushima prefectures, the thermal power plant has been shut down, so TEPCO will be stable from the evening of the 18th due to the interchange of electric power from other electric power companies. We are working to secure supply.

On the night of the 16th, there was an earthquake in Miyagi and Fukushima prefectures that observed shaking with a seismic intensity of 6 or higher, and several power plants were shut down.

Electric power companies are restarting operations one after another, but the Hirono Thermal Power Station Unit 6 in Hirono Town, Fukushima Prefecture, which sends electric power to the TEPCO jurisdiction, is still out of operation.

For this reason, the supply capacity is declining within the TEPCO jurisdiction, and the "usage rate", which indicates the ratio of demand to the power supply capacity, is 96% at 2:00 pm, and the supply and demand is tight.

Furthermore, on the 18th, TEPCO requested other electric power companies to accommodate the situation, saying that the temperature is low and the demand for heating is expected to increase in the future.

From 4:00 pm, it will be able to accommodate up to 940,000 kW, which is about the size of one large thermal power plant.

In addition, after the earthquake, Tohoku Electric Power Co., Inc. has received power interchange from other companies, and both companies are calling for cooperation in the efficient use of electricity as long as it does not interfere with their daily lives.
