The IAEA has decided to set up a research team to verify the safety of treated water and disposal methods from the perspective of a third party regarding the Japanese government's policy of releasing the ever-increasing amount of treated water at the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant into the sea. increase.



For this verification work, the IAEA will immediately start concrete discussions with the Japanese government and others from next month.



By the end of this year, we will dispatch a research team to Japan to verify whether the disposal method is appropriate and to continuously monitor the safety of treated water.



Japan hopes to ensure the reliability and transparency of treated water discharge through verification by the IAEA research team, which will help dispel international concerns.
