Kikuchi City, Kumamoto Prefecture, switched from "emergency safety assurance" issued to 474 households and 1086 people in the Ryumon and Mizusako districts to "evacuation orders" at 7:30 am.
As a result, in Kikuchi City, 19,635 households and 47,715 people throughout the city were subject to evacuation orders.
The "evacuation order" corresponds to alert level 4 out of the 5 heavy rain alert levels, and calls for all people in dangerous places to evacuate.
