On the morning of the 9th, the captain of a tugboat fell into the sea and died at Mizushima Port in Kurashiki City, Okayama Prefecture.

At that time, the wind was getting stronger due to the influence of the typhoon, so the Japan Coast Guard is investigating the cause.

After 10 am on the 9th, the Mizushima Coast Guard was informed that the captain had fallen into the sea and was taken to the hospital from the tugboat "Hoyomaru" that was tied to the quay at Mizushima Port in Kojima Shio, Kurashiki City.



According to the Maritime Security Department, the captain, Nobuyuki Tsuchiyama (37), who lives in Fukushima, Kurashiki City, was trying to evacuate the ship with two other crew members due to bad weather caused by a typhoon. It means that he discovered Mr. Tsuchiyama floating in the sea.



Mr. Tsuchiyama was taken to the hospital, but was later confirmed dead.
