Due to the influence of cold air in the sky, the atmospheric condition has become unstable over a wide area from northern Japan to western Japan, and it is raining heavily locally.

Rain clouds may develop in the Kanto Koshin and Tohoku regions over the 17th, and the Japan Meteorological Agency is calling for caution against inundation of low land, flooding of rivers, and sediment-related disasters.

According to the Japan Meteorological Agency, the Baiu front extends near southern Kyushu, and strong cold air is flowing over eastern and northern Japan, resulting in unstable atmospheric conditions over a wide area from northern Japan to western Japan.

In particular, rain clouds developed in Tohoku and Kanto Koshin, and in the hour until 4:00 pm, a rain gauge installed by Miyagi Prefecture in Aoba Ward, Sendai City observed heavy rain of 36 mm, and Miyayorikami in Kamo City, Niigata Prefecture. Then it rained 32 mm heavily.

Due to the rain that has fallen so far, there are areas in Yamagata and Fukushima prefectures where sediment-related disaster warning information has been announced.

Atmospheric instability is expected to continue until the night of the 16th in Tohoku and before noon on the 17th in the Kanto Koshin region, and there is a risk of heavy rain of 30 mm or more per hour.

Especially in Tohoku, it is expected that there will be a very heavy rain of 50 mm per hour.

The Japan Meteorological Agency warns against inundation of low land, sudden flooding and flooding of rivers, sediment-related disasters, and calls for attention to lightning strikes, gusts, and "hail".
