According to the Japan Meteorological Agency, maintenance will be carried out on a part of this observation network from the 12th to the 20th of this month, and if an earthquake occurs in the vicinity during that time, the "Earthquake Early Warning" will be announced for up to 15 seconds. It means that it will be late.



It also means that the announcement of the first tsunami warning will not be affected, but if you subsequently observe an offshore tsunami and raise the tsunami warning, the announcement may be delayed.



The location and date of maintenance will be from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm on April 12, 9:00 am to 3:00 pm on April 13, and 9:00 am on April 14, off the coast of Miyagi and Iwate. It is noon, 1 pm to 6 pm, and April 20th, 9 am to 5 pm.



In addition, maintenance will be carried out in the northern part off Sanriku from 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm on April 14.
