The restoration work of the castle tower of Kumamoto Castle, which was severely damaged by the Kumamoto earthquake five years ago, has been completed, and the inside has been opened to the press.

At Kumamoto Castle, the castle tower, stone walls, and cultural properties inside the castle were severely damaged by the Kumamoto earthquake, and Kumamoto City is proceeding with restoration work.

Of these, the castle tower, which consists of two buildings, the "large castle tower" and the "small castle tower," was completed last month, and the inside was opened to the press on the 6th.

A new "damping damper" has been installed on the first basement floor of the "small castle tower" to control shaking as an earthquake countermeasure, and is introduced on the panel so that visitors can also get information on safety.

In addition, the contents of the exhibition have been almost completely renewed, and the history from the time of Kiyomasa Kato, who built Kumamoto Castle, to the present day is introduced from the 1st floor to the 4th floor of "Himeji Castle".

The restoration work being carried out at Kumamoto Castle is expected to take a lot of money and time due to the large number of damaged areas and large scale, and it is expected that all will be completed in 2037.

The castle tower, which has undergone restoration work, is scheduled to be open to the public for the first time in five years from the 26th of this month.

Mr. Tatsuo Amita, director of the Kumamoto Castle General Office, said, "I would like many people to come to feel the recovery from the earthquake."
