The Japan Meteorological Agency has issued a tsunami warning since the 6.7 magnitude earthquake that occurred off the coast of Yamagata Prefecture in June.

In Miyagi Prefecture, a tsunami warning was announced for a magnitude 7.4 earthquake that occurred off the coast of Fukushima Prefecture in November five years ago.
