At an elementary school in Miyako City, Iwate Prefecture, the principal told children about the tsunami and the importance of passing it on to the next generation in order to convey the memories of the tsunami caused by the Great East Japan Earthquake to children.

In addition to the Great East Japan Earthquake 10 years ago, the Taro district of Miyako City suffered great damage from the two tsunamis of the Meiji and Showa eras.

On the 3rd, at Taro Daiichi Elementary School, it is necessary for Principal Yuichi Tsutsui to show children the pictures of the tsunami that has hit the area so far, and to know the magnitude of the damage, the difficulty of reconstruction, and the local topography and history. He talked about sex and the importance of passing it on to the next generation.

After that, the children listened to stories on themes such as "life" and "reconstruction," and wrote down what they felt in a strip of paper.

A 6th grade boy said, "I thought it was important for everyone to work together to save lives and promote reconstruction."

Principal Tsutsui said, "As the number of children born after the earthquake is increasing, I think it is important to stop the weathering of memories. I would like to continue every year in the future."

The strip written by the children is to attach it to a balloon and fly it at a memorial event to be held on March 11.
