Miyazaki Making sandbags in the past flood facility in preparation for the approach of Typhoon No. 10 September 20:50

In preparation for the approach of Typhoon No. 10, three years ago, a typhoon flooded the building for more than 1 meter, and at the nursing home for the elderly in Nobeoka City, Miyazaki Prefecture, we were busy building sandbags around the building.

At the nursing home for the aged, "Kamura-en," located in Kitagawa-cho, Nobeoka-shi, a contractor started making sandbags in the morning.

The workers shoveled sand into the bags one by one, and placed the sandbags near the facility entrance.

At this facility, a typhoon No. 18 three years ago caused an "inland flood", in which the water of the Sotani River flowing nearby crossed the embankment and accumulated in the district, and it was flooded for more than 1 meter.

Approximately 80 people living in the apartment live on the 2nd and 3rd floors, and if there is a risk of damage, the residents on the 2nd floor will be evacuated to the 3rd floor.

After the evening of the 5th, sandbags will be piled around the building to prepare for a typhoon.

Mr. Junichi Kuroki of the facility said, "If you prepare, you can prevent serious damage, so I would like to take solid measures to ensure the safety of users."
