Increased allocation tax to 18 cities, towns and villages damaged by heavy rainfall in Yamagata Granted August 13, 13:43

Half of the normal allocation tax scheduled to be delivered next month was delivered to 18 municipalities in Yamagata Prefecture, which were damaged by the record heavy rain last month.

Ordinary allocation tax is granted four times a year by the government to make up for the lack of financial resources of local governments, and it is granted at an earlier stage when the disaster causes major damage.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications has announced that the record heavy rain late last month will cause flooding of the Mogami River in Yamagata Prefecture one after another. A half price, totaling 10,874 million yen was issued.

The amount of grant is
2,326 million yen for Tsuruoka City, 1,525 million yen for
Sakata City,
and 1,086 million yen for Yamagata City.

As a result, after a series of heavy rain disasters last month, the delivered amount by the 4th was 43,766 million yen to 65 municipalities in 9 prefectures.
