Kumamoto Tsunagi Town Reissue certificate started field survey Heavy rain disaster July 14th 12:03

A field survey has begun to provide public financial support to the affected residents in the town of Tsunagi, in the southern part of Kumamoto Prefecture, where the record-breaking heavy rain disaster caused great damage.

In the town of Tsunaki, three people were killed and two people were missing due to the record heavy rain that caused houses to be crushed by the collapsed mountain surface.

Against this backdrop, the town started a field survey on 14th to issue disaster certificates for the affected people to receive public financial support.

The first day of the survey was conducted in the Fukuhama area, where the damage was severe. The situation of the damage was recorded by measuring and listening to the residents.

A woman in her fifties living in this house said, "I think I can no longer live in this house because everything around the house is flooded. I can't think of the future because of the shock."

The town will investigate about 40 applications that have been filed so far over the next month.

Tsunagi-cho damage authorization research team said, “The inflow of sediment is the main cause of damage. Issuing a disaster certificate is the first step in rebuilding people's lives, so we conduct research with a sense of speed. I would like to meet you."
