In Mizunami City, Gifu Prefecture, at a shrine in the city, a cedar tree that is said to be over 1000 years old has fallen from the root, causing damage to houses.

Around 10:30 pm on the 11th, a 40-meter-high cedar tree was found to have collapsed from the root at the Shinmei Shrine in Ozawa, Mizunami City, Gifu Prefecture.

According to the city, this tree is a sacred tree of this shrine, and it is said that it is 1200 to 1300 years old locally.

It was designated as a natural monument in Gifu Prefecture and was a symbol of the town.

In the video taken by the NHK helicopter from the sky above the site before 8:00 am on the 12th, you can see that the root of the tree is falling and the root is bare.

The fallen tree is also caught on the roof and electric wires of a nearby house.

According to the city, this tree is thought to have collapsed under the influence of heavy rain, and no one was injured.
