Hitoyoshi City, Kumamoto Prefecture, was flooded over a large area due to heavy rain, but depending on the city, there are 18 people whose family members cannot be contacted and their safety is unknown at 6 pm on the 8th.
The city is working with police and the Self-Defense Forces to confirm the whereabouts of people who cannot be contacted.
