On the morning of the 8th, approximately 10 roofs such as houses were blown away in Toyohashi City, Aichi Prefecture. The Nagoya Local Meteorological Observatory conducted a field survey on the afternoon of the 8th in order to understand the damage situation, assuming that a tornado may have occurred.

From 7 am to 7:30 am on the 8th, reports of damage such as the roofs of houses being blown off by wind gusts were sent to Toyohashi City in Wakamatsu Town and Todai Shimizu Town in Toyohashi City.

In response to this, the Nagoya Regional Meteorological Observatory believes that a tornado may have occurred, and dispatched a person in charge to conduct a field survey with Toyohashi City on the afternoon of the 8th.

The person in charge confirmed the damage caused by the roof tiles of the house being blown off and the corn field being knocked down, and interviewed the residents about the situation at the time.

According to Toyohashi City, there are at least about 10 damaged buildings, including houses and factories.

At that time, tornado caution information was issued in the southern part of Higashimikawa in Aichi prefecture including Toyohashi city, and the meteorological observatory is going to investigate in detail whether the tornado occurred based on field surveys.

Takao Gomi, Disaster Management Officer of the Nagoya Local Meteorological Observatory, said, "The atmosphere is still unstable, so please be careful."

Gifu Yaotsu-cho is a gust

In Yaotsu-cho, Gifu Prefecture, on the morning of the 8th, damage such as the roofs of houses were blown one after another, and the meteorological observatory is investigating the cause, considering that there may have been a gust.

Depending on the town, 43 cases were confirmed, including damage to the roof tiles of the houses in the Yaotsu and Nogami districts of the town, and broken glass.

Although such damage is concentrated in a linear distance of about 3 km, it is not yet known how many buildings the damage has spread to.

Also, so far, no information about injured persons has been entered.

It seems that there may be a gust of wind on the meteorological observatory, and we are investigating the detailed situation at the time by sending four people to the site to check the damage.

At the Meteorological Observatory, we announced tornado caution information at 5:45 am in the Mino region of Gifu prefecture, including Yaotsu town.
