Heavy rains are intermittently occurring in western Japan due to front lines and low pressure. Due to the possibility of extremely heavy rainfall over a wide area including Tokai and eastern Japan on 1st July, the Meteorological Agency is calling for caution against sediment-related disasters, flooding of low land, and flooding of rivers.

According to the Japan Meteorological Agency, warm and moist air flows toward the front extending from the low pressure, and the atmospheric condition becomes unstable mainly in western Japan and rain clouds are developing.

In the 1 hour until 4am, there was a heavy rain of 34 mm in Akune City, Kagoshima Prefecture.

In addition, all of them were rain gauges installed by the prefecture, and they observed heavy rain
of 33 mm in Unzen City, Nagasaki Prefecture
and 32 mm in Amakusa City, Kumamoto Prefecture.

The risk of sediment-related disasters has greatly increased in Kagoshima Prefecture due to the rain so far, and there are areas where sediment-related disaster warning information has been released.

In the future,
it is expected that rain will intensify in Eastern Japan such as Tokai. ▽In 30 days in western Japan, and in July 1 in eastern Japan, heavy rain accompanied by thunders, and locally it will be extremely 50 mm or more per hour. Heavy rain may occur.

The Meteorological Agency cautions against sediment-related disasters, inundation of low-lying land, and flooding of rivers, and calls for attention to severe gusts such as lightning strikes and tornadoes.
