Strawberry farmers in Sanmu City, Chiba Prefecture, damaged by Typhoon No. 15, are preparing for the strawberry picking that will begin in earnest next month.

In the Naruto district of Sanmu City, Chiba Prefecture, where many tourists come to pick strawberries every year, Typhoon No. 15 caused many strawberry farms to destroy their agricultural houses.

Despite the damage, strawberry farmers in the area are preparing for a full-fledged strawberry picking season starting next month.

Of these, in the field of Hideki Aiba, who is the president of the Sanmu City Naruto Tourism Strawberry Association, about 10 staff members were preparing for watering and laying sheets in the house.

In Aiba's field, six of the 40 agricultural houses were completely destroyed due to the typhoon, and cultivation was not possible in some of the fields. It is about a week late, but the growth is going well.

Mr. Aiba said, `` I was worried if I could start strawberry picking when the typhoon was damaged, but I want you to come because the warm climate continues and the growth is progressing smoothly '' .
