Sinterklaas and his helpers arrive on Sunday 17 November at the Grote Markt in Haarlem. Like every year, Pakjesboot 13 arrives via the Spaarne.
The tour starts on Sunday near Teylers Hofje and turns right via the Spaarne at the junction with Damstraat and via the Oude Groenmarkt through the Grote Houtstraat.
At the Proveniershof the procession with the good saint and his helpers enters the Gierstraat and then turns left onto the Gedempte Oude Gracht. The procession turns right at the Zijlstraat.
Where the Nieuwe Groenmarkt appears on the left, the Sint and the pieten continue via the Nieuwe Groenmarkt, the Krocht and Smedestraat. Sinterklaas is received by the mayor around 2 pm on the Grote Markt.
Own boat allowed
The Grote Markt and the entire route of the entry are closed on Sunday due to the event.
The municipality advises people to leave the car and to opt for a bicycle or public transport. It is also permitted to watch Saint Nicholas and his helpers enter the city with their own boat.
This weekend there is a slight chance of rain. A thick scarf and raincoat are therefore definitely recommended while watching the entry.
In Haarlem it will be between 6 and 8 degrees on Sunday.
