Due to the heavy rain caused by Typhoon No. 19, a large-scale landslide occurred in Makino, Midori-ku, Sagamihara City. The houses of Sasaki Satoshi (67) and wife Sadako (63) were swept away and the two were missing.
During the 12th day from the typhoon, the fire department, police, and the Self-Defense Force continued to search for two people by heavy machinery and manual labor. According to the police, the site where the earth and sand collapsed after 3pm on the 10th. The body of one woman was found along the valley below.
The police consider the wife to be found and proceed with further identification as they confirm their identity.
