The family of office worker Shinji Urano (63), who lives in Akanuma, Nagano City, where the Chikuma River embankment broke down and many houses were flooded, spent a night at his home on the ground floor. I was rescued by a Self-Defense Forces helicopter that morning and died.
Mr. Urano is now living in an evacuation center with his wife and two children.
On the night of the 12th of this month, he was left behind at his home in Akanuma, Nagano, and was rescued by a Helicopter from the Morning Self-Defense Force on the 13th.
Mr. Urano looked back at the time and said, “I think it was really stupid. I was watching the news of the typhoon, but I was late to escape. I think. ”
She continued to live in a shelter while wearing her clothes, but on the 15th, she heard that she was finally able to go to see her home.

Immediately after arriving at home, I checked the surroundings of the house, and it was covered with mud and turned into a brown world. The wall near the roof was clearly submerged.
When I opened the entrance, the shoebox collapsed and closed the entrance, and the shoes were scattered and a large amount of mud accumulated in the back of the room.
Going further inside, all sorts of objects such as tatami mats, furniture, and household goods that floated and overlapped with water were scattered and it was not clear where to start.
Urano-san said, “I was prepared, but I didn't think it was so far. I had to give up. My memories were gone.”
Urano-san was watching the news about Typhoon No. 19 on the night of the 12th, but thought that there was no need to evacuate early.
However, around 1 o'clock on the 13th, public relations vehicles calling for evacuation frequently turned around, so I started evacuation by riding a car.
However, the road was already flooded, and the Urano family had no choice but to leave the car and return home.
Immediately after returning home, the water started to enter and flooded to the ceiling of the first floor in just a few hours.
Furthermore, as the water approached to the feet, the room was completely dark due to a power failure, and Mr. Urano could only wait for rescue.
Mr. Urano said, “I think I should have acted early as a result of my decision to evacuate. I can't think of anything yet. I think it was good that my life was saved.” It was.
