When the police and fire department searched, on the 14th, a part with a license plate of a car that was missing on the right bank of the Chikuma River, about 2.5 km downstream from the site, was found.

Initially, this car was supposed to have three people, but according to the police, there was a possibility that a man in his 70s who was from Tomi City and lived outside Nagano Prefecture was riding alone.
