In Sano City, Tochigi Prefecture, the Akiyama River flowing through the city broke down and water is flowing into nearby residential areas. It seems that there are people left behind in flooded houses, etc., and firefighters and self-defense forces are engaged in rescue operations.

According to the Sano City Crisis Management Division, the Akiyama River flowing through the city overflowed after 9:00 pm on the 12th.

In the video taken by NHK with a helicopter before 7am, you can see how the left bank of the Akiyama River broke down in the vicinity of Akasaka-cho, Sano City for several meters, and the water flowing into the nearby residential area.

The place that broke down is a residential area approximately 2 kilometers southwest of JR Sano Station.
