Typhoon No. 19 approached Sunday fireworks display postponed Chiba Narita Oct. 10 12:10

Since the approach of large and furious typhoon 19 is expected, the fireworks display scheduled for 13th will be postponed in Narita City, Chiba Prefecture, and the sponsoring organization is being pursued .

The 14th “NARITA Fireworks Festival” is held every year by a group of local residents based on sponsorship money collected from individuals. Last year, about 130,000 people visited.

At that time, about 12,000 fireworks were scheduled to be launched on the night of the 13th, but the safety of volunteers could not be secured due to the approach of Typhoon No. 19, and the seats could be blown away by the wind. The event was postponed.

At the venue, members of the hosting organization were busy with work such as preparing chairs for the bleachers and removing tables.

This is the first time that the fireworks display has been postponed, and we are making adjustments to see if it will be held on the 19th of this month.

The chair of the organization, Naoki Watanabe, said, “I can't beat natural disasters, but I want to do my best so that it can be held for many people who support me.”
