At least 29 people were killed on Sunday (September 8th) in two attacks, including one on improvised explosive devices (IED), in two localities in Sanmatenga province in northern Burkina Faso. Burkina Faso, a poor country in West Africa, has been caught in a spiral of violence for four and a half years, attributed to jihadist armed groups, some affiliated with al-Qaida and others affiliated with the Islamic State group.
