The royal couple has often visited Orange duels at a major tournament in the past.

At the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, the last tournament for which the Netherlands managed to qualify, Willem-Alexander and Máxima visited the group match against Australia in Porto Alegre.

The pair visited the dressing room after the 3-2 victory of Orange to address the players of then national coach Louis van Gaal.

Willem-Alexander is a big sports fan

At the World Cup in South Africa in 2010, Willem-Alexander and Máxima visited the semi-final against Uruguay (3-2 win) and the final against Spain (1-0 defeat after extra time).

After the lost final battle, some players were comforted by the (then) prince and princess.

Willem-Alexander is known as a great sports fan.

He was a member of the IOC from 1998 until just before his coronation in 2013.

The International Olympic Committee named him an honorary member three years later.

After the group match against Ukraine, the Orange squad will play in group C against Austria (June 17) and North Macedonia (June 21).
