Undoubtedly, the most surprising Finnish name in the NHL recently has been Janne Kuokkanen from the New Jersey Devils.

In Sunday's round, Kuokkanen, 22, scored a goal in the fourth match for the tube.

The Oulu striker twisted the Devils 1-1 draw with superiority at the start of the match against the New York Islanders.

The second-to-last Devils in the Eastern Division eventually bowed to the top team Islanders after a winning goal race 2-3.

The Devils had time to celebrate a moment’s overtime victory after PK Subban’s goal, but it was eventually dismissed due to a subtle offside prior to the situation.

Kuokkanen, the three-chain pier with a nimble foot, got ice time for just over 12 minutes.

Despite his hard finish, Kuokkanen is still so new in the NHL that his name also caused problems for the jersey printer.

Namely, the text Koukkanen adorned his back during the match.

Kuokkanen has played a few scatter matches in the NHL in the previous three seasons, but now the games have accumulated steadily for the first time.

The result has also come: after 20 matches, Kuokkanen has a power of 5 + 6 = 11, which makes him the 10th most efficient Finn in the NHL of the season.

Kuokkanen is already in fourth place on the Devils internal paint exchange.

Kuokkas also became the sixth player in four-match history to reach the finish line.

In the Devils shirt, no newcomer has reached more than four, but the ranks of the team’s predecessors, the Kansas City Scouts and the Colorado Rockies, once surprised six at best.

Kuokkanen will be able to try to stretch his goal tube next Tuesday's round against division jumbo Buffalo.
