Mikael Granlund has not appeared in the first NHL matches of the season.

Not because he had played quietly, but he hasn’t even been there.

Granlund, who signed a one-year extension with Nashville Predators, was still in Finland when the season started last week.

The deal was only born just before Christmas, but Granlund didn’t finally get to travel until last Thursday.

- There was a short time to wait for a visa.

Fortunately, I am now unable to be here and hope to be back real action, reached Nashville Granlund says.

Granlund is currently in quarantine at home.

- On Thursday, I should be able to practice with these prospects.

Then let’s see what the mood is, Granlund says when asked when he gets to open his season.

Nashville will next play on Friday and Sunday in away matches against Dallas, who is just starting his season from these matches.

Nashville underperformed all of last season’s expectations and material, but this season has begun with a promising note.

Columbus immediately crashed to start twice, and in the previous match, which ended in a meager loss, Carolina also had all the lunch to win.

Feverishly awaiting access to the pitch, Granlund says he has taken note of his team’s good performances.

- What I saw TV's through, so have looked really good in Meiningen.

It has pretty much blanks, Granlund says.

Like Granlund, Sami Vatanen, who signed a contract only at the beginning of the season, has been on the sidelines for the same time for the same reasons.

Kasperi Kapanen of Pittsburgh, who also fought with visa problems, was able to open his season on Tuesday's round.

Columbus' Mikko Koivu and Florida's Juho Lammikko, on the other hand, have been on the NHL's "corona list", where players are not allowed to participate in their team's activities for the time being.

The reason for being on the list can be not only a positive test result but also, for example, risk contact or travel quarantine.

On Tuesday, the name of Carolina Teuvo Teräväinen was added to the same list.

The match between Carolina and Nashville on Tuesday had to be canceled due to a visiting team in Carolina being exposed.
