Dutch travelers back to Suriname under certain conditions

Travelers from the Netherlands can fly back to Suriname under certain conditions, Surinamese president Chan Santokhi announced on Sunday evening.

Travelers from the Netherlands are obliged to go into quarantine for ten days in a location chosen by the government upon arrival.

Travelers must also show a negative corona test.

Surinamese airspace was closed to travelers from March 14 due to the corona virus.

There is still a curfew in the country between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m.

Gommers: celebrity campaign #ikdoenietmeermee got me thinking

  • Two supervisors were assaulted in Medemblik, North Holland, when they checked a cafe for compliance with the corona measures.

  • The number of corona patients in Dutch hospitals increased by 62 to 617 on Sunday, according to figures from the National Coordination Center for Patient Distribution (LCPS).
