According to Statistics Finland's Labor Force Survey, there were 65,000 fewer employed in August than a year earlier.

The seasonally unadjusted employment rate fell by two percentage points to 71.5 per cent year-on-year.

The trend figure for the employment rate, seasonally and randomly adjusted, was 71.6 per cent.

The number of unemployed was 42,000 higher than a year ago.

The total number of unemployed was 211,000. The non-seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 7.7 per cent in August, compared with 6.1 per cent a year earlier.
