NHV team Elvis Merzlikins of Columbus Blue Jackets sent funny greetings to his heroically diligent goalkeeper colleague Joonas Korpisalo.
- Hi brother, I thought you might need something ... 88 shots and 85 fights ?! Really Korpi? What is your room number? I'm coming, Merzlikins wrote on Twitter with a photo.
The picture shows many bottled bottled water.
Korpisalo was standing on Columbus' goal last night in Finnish time, when the Blue Jackets started their actual NHL playoffs with a marathon match against Tampa Bay Lightning.
The match ended with Tampa's 3-2 win in the fifth overtime. Korpisalo stretched the puck 85 times, a NHL single-match record.

The sticks offered by the Latvian Merzlikins will certainly be needed by the Finnish goalkeeper, even though he told Ilta-Sanomat that he had “special juice” during the break.
- The batch break was just an attempt to get the body tuned. Rested, and there was salt juice and all sorts of food to suit that moment. It was just damn refueling that we could handle the press, Korpisalo said.

Columbus has a good situation in his goalkeeping department, as GM Jarmo Kekäläinen and coach John Tortorella have two good gate guards at their disposal: Korpisalo, 26, and Merzlikins, 26.
The duo shared responsibility for the fight in the playoffs against Toronto.
After the heroic work in the decisive game of Toronto and the opening match of the Lightning series, Korpisalo could be imagined to be the number one option for future games.
That is, if he returns with the help of Merzlikins drinks from his Herculean career.
