Eddie Shack, 83, who celebrated the Stanley Cup victory four times in his handsome career, has been hospitalized for cancer.

Howard Berger, a journalist who has long followed Toronto Maplea Leafs, told about it on Twitter.

Shack won the Stanley Cup in the ranks of the Toronto Maple Leafs four times, in 1962, 1963, 1964 and 1967. In 1963, he scored a final-set goal against the Detroit Red Wings.

At the end of his career in 1977, Shack became a popular TV character in Canada, who was also a familiar sight on NHL star-studded alumni teams.
