New York (dpa) - US director Steven Spielberg is planning a new musical for New York's Broadway. The play «Smash», based on the television series, is supposed to deal with how a Broadway musical about the life of Hollywood icon Marilyn Monroe should be created, the organizers said.
Between 2011 and 2012, the series was shown at NBC in the USA and at RTL II in Germany. "I am thrilled to be part of this musical and on its way to Broadway," said 73-year-old Spielberg, who wants to act as a producer Message. Part of the original team that helped develop the series should also be part of it again. There was initially no information about a possible date for a premiere. All Broadway theaters are currently closed due to the corona pandemic.
The multiple award-winning Spielberg has become famous with Hollywood films such as "The Great White Shark", "ET - The Alien" and "Jurassic Park".
