A man who has been fortified in a terraced house in Järvenpää is charged with attempted murder of five police officers in Eastern Uusimaa District Court.

According to the prosecutor, a man in a protective vest fired several shots at the beginning of December with a revolver and pistol, apparently intended to hit outside police. Three shots were fired through the apartment door. Police had come to an apartment near Ainola station due to an emergency center announcement.

Some of the shots hit the wall of an adjoining detached house and the fence between the plots. In addition, according to the prosecutor, the man broke the walls of the apartment and lowered the water from the water pipe, causing extensive water damage to the apartment and the adjacent apartment. It wasn't a man's own apartment.

The prosecutor demands that the man be imprisoned for at least six years for attempted murder, firearms offense, endangerment and aggravated assault.
