Munich (AP) - Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan al-Saud expects the federal government to lift the arms export ban against his country. "We hope that Germany understands that we need the means to defend ourselves," he told the German Press Agency. He pointed out that oil plants in Saudi Arabia were attacked last year and blamed Iran for this. The fact that the federal government nonetheless no longer approves arms deliveries “does not fit within the framework of the good relations” between the two countries.
