The man comes from the Starnberg region in the German state of Bavaria. It was only confirmed on Monday evening that he was infected with the corona virus.
The family's relatives are informed about the situation, as well as possible symptoms of the virus and hygiene measures to be taken.
A special working group on infectiology is investigating whether there is a health risk to the whole health of Bavaria. It is not yet known whether the patient contracted the virus in Europe or in China. Perhaps, just like in France, it is about someone who came to Europe from Wuhan, for example.

France already preceded the country last week, when three people were found to have the disease. Two of them are in Paris, one is in Bordeaux.

The Netherlands is scaling up to the highest level of vigilance
In the Netherlands, the disease has not yet surfaced, but on Monday Minister Bruno Bruins for Medical Care announced in a letter to Parliament that it will be scaled up to the highest level of vigilance.
This means that healthcare professionals are obliged to report directly to the municipal health service (GGD) if there are indications that someone may be infected. For example, potential patients must come into the picture as quickly as possible to prevent them from spreading.
Potential patients can be forced into hospital or placed in isolation. All Dutch hospitals have potentially required isolation rooms.
In addition, the virus will from now on be referred to as a so-called A disease, such as SARS and polio.
