Bamberg (dpa) - The writer Gudrun Pausewang is dead. She died last night at the age of 91 near Bamberg. Pausewang was especially known for her children's and youth books. For example, she wrote “The Last Children of Schewenborn” or the novel “The Cloud” about the consequences of a fictitious nuclear reactor accident. The book became a bestseller a year after the Chernobyl nuclear disaster. The writer lived in the East Hessian slot for more than three decades. Since a fall in 2016, Pausewang lived near her son in a retirement home.
