Berlin (dpa) - The world war bomb found in the center of Berlin in the morning was defused shortly after midnight by police specialists. The approximately 1900 people who had to vacate their apartments in the Nikolaiviertel and at the town hall and were waiting in emergency shelters should "be able to return to their homes as soon as possible," the police said. A world war bomb had been defused in Cologne at noon. Only 15 residents in the restricted area were affected. However, around 10,000 employees had to leave their jobs or remain in their home office.
