Washington (dpa) - According to a media report, the US aircraft manufacturer Boeing could make a decision this Monday about the further production of the 737 Max crisis jet.
Management believes that a production break is the most viable option, the Wall Street Journal reported on Sunday (local time), citing insiders. The alternative would be to cut production further.
The US aviation regulator FAA had given Boeing last week to make it clear that the group could not count on the rapid re-registration of the unlucky 737 Max. The agency also urged the aircraft manufacturer to hold back public statements about the certification process. As a result, Boeing's shares on the stock exchange came under considerable pressure.
The 737 Max - Boeing's best-selling aircraft - has not been able to take off within five months of March because of two crashes. A total of 346 people died in the accident.
