London (AP) - The British actor Colin Firth (59) has separated from his wife Livia. The report the British news agency PA on Friday, citing the spokesman Firths.
The two would maintain a "close friendship" despite the split and be united in their love for their children, according to a statement. The couple has two sons. Many know Firth from films like "Mamma Mia", "Actually ... Love", "Bridget Jones - Chocolate for Breakfast" and "A Single Man".
Firth was honored with an Oscar in 2011 for his role in the historic film The King's Speech. He plays in it the British King George VI, the father of Queen Elizabeth II, who must overcome his stuttering to hold a radio speech in the beginning of World War II.
