Rome (AP) - A series of earthquakes has plucked many people out of sleep in central Italy in the early morning. Damage and injuries were initially not reported. The center was near Borgo San Lorenzo in Tuscany north of Florence. The strongest earthquake with a magnitude of 4.5 occurred at 4:37 am, as reported by the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology. Many people left their homes. Numerous train connections were interrupted due to necessary controls of the rail network, including the high-speed railway Florence-Bologna.
