KNMI has issued a yellow code for the entire country, with the exception of the Wadden area. This morning, commuters must watch out for dense fog and slippery roads. It gets a maximum of 5 degrees.
Code yellow remains in effect until 8:00 am. However, the fog remains a lot longer in the north and east of the country; motorists suffer from low visibility until late in the evening.
Elsewhere in the country it is cloudy but remains dry. Where it rained in the night from Tuesday to Wednesday, it can be slippery on the roads. In most places it has frozen last night.
In some places in the country, the sun breaks through later today and warms up to a grade of 5. However, in large parts of the country the sun does not appear at all; there the mercury lingers around the freezing point.
In the night from Wednesday to Thursday it is cloudy again and new fog banks are being created. For the time being, Thursday also looks gray and foggy.
