Baku (AP) - In the comeback of superstar Gareth Bale, the Welsh national football team has kept the chances of the second European Championship in series open.
The team of coach Ryan Giggs won in Azerbaijan 2-0 (2-0) and is now possibly in front of a final for the second place in Group E against Hungary. The Welsh are third on eleven points, the second-placed Hungary stand a counter better. However, Slovakia (10) could pass by with a win in Group First Croatia (14) in the evening.
Kieffer Moore (10 ') and Harry Wilson (34') scored the goals for the Welsh in Baku, with Bale playing 60 minutes. The striker had been missing since the last international match on 13 October due to injury. The fact that he had now traveled to the national team had caused trouble in Madrid. Bale does not have the best score under Real coach Zinedine Zidane anyway.
In Group I meanwhile Belgium has secured the group victory. In the duel of the already qualified teams the Red Devils in Russia won 4: 1 (3: 0). The Dortmund Thorgan Hazard scored the Belgian lead, his brother Eden with two goals (33rd and 40th) and Romelu Lukaku (72) made the victory perfect. Georgi Dschikija (79) met for Russia.
