Halle (dpa) - A runoff has to decide the race for mayor post in Halle. When voting a few days after the terrorist attack in the largest city in Saxony-Anhalt, incumbent Bernd Wiegand was with 44 percent of the vote clearly ahead, as the election administration announced. However, the non-party politician missed the absolute majority and must compete on 27 October in the runoff election against the red-red-green candidate Hendrik Lange. Lange came to the preliminary result, according to a good 25 percent of the vote.
