Berlin (dpa) - In view of the invasion of Turkey in northern Syria, Foreign Minister Heiko Maas announced restrictions on the approval of arms exports to the NATO partner. "Against the backdrop of the Turkish military offensive in northeastern Syria, the federal government will not issue new permits for all military equipment that could be used by Turkey in Syria," he told Bild am Sonntag. Thousands of Kurds took to the streets in German cities today in protest against the Turkish offensive.
