New York (dpa) - After several women accused him of sexual harassment, the opera star Plácido Domingo has left the day before a scheduled appearance, the New York Metropolitan Opera. He had asked the opera management to release him from his duties and will no longer appear at the Met, Domingo said in a statement to the New York Times. Several singers had accused Domingo in the course of the "MeToo" movement against sexist and sexually violent behavior of influential men some decades ago assaults.
