Vienna (dpa) - Austria will probably overturn the planned free trade agreement of the European Union with the South American Confederation Mercosur. The EU subcommittee in the National Council voted against the agreement, reports the Austrian news agency APA. This will oblige the government to reject the EU-Mercosur agreement at EU level and put a stop to the pact, as decisions in the EU Council must be unanimous. With the agreement reached at the end of June, the EU and four South American countries want to build the largest free trade area in the world.
