Berlin (dpa) - The risk of poverty in old age could increase significantly in the coming years, according to a new study. The proportion of pensioners threatened by poverty could grow from 16.8 to 21.6 percent by 2039, as calculated by the German Institute for Economic Research on behalf of the Bertelsmann Stiftung. Particularly affected are the low-skilled, single people and people with longer-term unemployment.
