Germany: Public debt of municipalities declined last year

Wiesbaden (AFP) The public debt of the municipalities declined last year. At the end of 2018, the debt of the municipalities and municipal associations amounted to 35.2 billion euros through so-called cash credits, as reported by the Federal Statistical Office in Wiesbaden on Thursday. That was 7.1 billion euros or 16.7 percent less than at the end of the previous year.
